Find Clarke County Criminal Dockets

Start your Clarke County criminal docket search with the court named on the ticket or notice. Felony matters sit in Superior Court, while misdemeanors and traffic cases usually run through State Court, and first appearances happen in Magistrate Court. The Clarke County criminal court docket tracks hearings, motions, and filings in time order. An online lookup works when the court system exposes the record, so you may need the clerk's office for anything the online view leaves out. The docket shows court action only, not the arrest file itself.

Clarke County Criminal Search Routes

PeachCourt is the required route for Clarke State and Clarke Superior e-filing. It provides E-Access through an account. Expect a possible provider charge for a document image. The Georgia Courts directory names the provider. It is not a free unified criminal index for every local court, though. Treat the legacy Clerk link with care. It may redirect or expose no live field set. So never guess fields or assume a case is absent. State calendar PDFs cover arraignment, case status, calendar call, and jury trial settings. Magistrate, municipal, and juvenile records each use separate local paths. For a phone, counter, mail, or records request, keep the court, case number, date range, and document type together.

What a Clarke County Criminal Docket Shows

Every criminal docket ties a court-assigned number to a chain of case events. A charge, a setting, counsel, bond information, and the later disposition can all appear. Not every filed document will show. And a calendar entry is not the official register.

Case numberState calendars use STYYCR####-JUDGE. The year is not necessarily the offense, filing, or disposition year.
Case statusA status label describes calendar progress. Opened, pending, or on calendar does not mean guilty.
Offense dateThe alleged-offense date is separate from filing and hearing dates.
Count and classificationEach count is a separate alleged offense; State entries may show offense name and misdemeanor classification.
AttorneysEntries can identify Attorney for State and Attorney for Defendant.
BondA bondsman, amount, and date may appear. Bond does not replace disposition.

Reading Clarke County Criminal Calendar Fields

Clarke State Court calendar PDFs repeat the same field set. An item number places the matter in the list. The court and judge header identifies the calendar. A caption gives the formal case style. Criminal entries use the State-versus-caption format. A preparation or print time may show when the list was made. Knowing these terms helps you tell a planned court event from a final case action.

Arraignment
A formal charge and plea setting, not a conviction.
Calendar Call
A scheduling and readiness event for listed cases.
Case Status
A progress review, not necessarily a trial or result.
Reset or continued
A moved setting. The newest docket entry controls.
Disposition
An outcome or closing action, not a calendar appearance.

Read field labels alongside the event date and the docket chronology. A bond date is not an offense date, and calendar placement never proves a charge was sustained.

Stages on a Clarke County Criminal Docket

Criminal entries often pass through several events before the clerk's record shows any result. Knowing the order helps when a search returns repeated dates or status entries.

Docket flow: Filing → Arraignment → Pretrial → Plea or Trial → Disposition → Sentencing

An arraignment is a charge and plea setting, not a finding of guilt. Motions, calendar calls, jury settings, and non-jury settings can each add entries. A reset moves an event without ending the case, so read disposition and sentence from later docket events.

Clarke County Criminal Arraignment Status

Words like “opened,” “pending,” or “on calendar” are not a judgment. A Clarke State Court arraignment calendar lists cases for that event, and it may show status, count, attorneys, and bond. It establishes no conviction, no sentence, and no disposition.

Calendar meaning: an arraignment confirms a scheduled procedural stage. Read the later docket events and the clerk's official record for plea, disposition, or sentence information.

The same caution covers a calendar call, a status calendar, or a jury-trial list. A case can be continued, reset, or removed from a dated PDF while still active. The latest signed order, docket event, or court confirmation controls over an older calendar.

Which Court Holds Clarke County Criminal Dockets

Clarke criminal records are split by jurisdiction. The Clerk of Superior and State Courts holds the official Superior and State actions, while Magistrate, Municipal, and Juvenile clerks each keep their own. Use the table as a routing aid, then confirm with the court.

Official Clerk of Superior and State Courts

Federal criminal charges belong to the Middle District of Georgia, Athens Division, and run through PACER rather than a Clarke County docket. A case can later be tied to another court's record. That makes both the issuing court and the final disposition court matter.

Clarke County Criminal Magistrate Handoff

Magistrate Court handles warrants, first appearance and bond, preliminary hearings, and pre-warrant applications. It is where many Clarke County criminal docket entries begin. A bond or preliminary record is not the whole felony case, though. Later events may move to State or Superior Court. So always check there before assuming the docket ended.

Need more than the online status? The Magistrate Court records-request page can help. So can the court office at 325 E Washington, Suite 240, phone 706-613-3310. When the final disposition lands in another court, ask that Clerk for the later record. Keep the warrant number close at hand. Keep the later State or Superior case number close too when supplied.

For the official path, the Clarke County Magistrate Court page lays out the court's own route. It also gives contact details.

That route fits a warrant, bond, or preliminary matter. The later State or Superior docket controls the final stage. The records route also describes free public-access terminals in the lobby, a court-specific fallback rather than a promise of identical Superior or State service.

Clarke County Criminal DUI and Drug Court

DUI and Drug Court runs as a State Court track. It is not a separate docket portal. ACCGov dates the Clarke County program to 2001. It calls the program nationally recognized, and puts enrollment at about 85 to 100 participants at a time. The State case itself holds the court record you need.

Other accountability tracks exist too. Among them are Felony Drug, Veterans, Treatment and Accountability, and Parental Accountability Court. A program name never creates a new court number. Search the underlying State or Superior matter. Then ask the clerk how a program order is labeled. The official State Court source explains the court's criminal jurisdiction, including its DUI work.

A specialty track sits inside the State Court record. It changes the program a participant enters, not the Clarke County criminal docket that already carries the case.

Clarke County Criminal Copy Fallback

No luck online? Go straight to the office that holds the record. For Superior or State criminal actions, that is the Clerk. The office sits at 325 E Washington, Room 450, phone 706-613-3190. The staff keeps official actions and can route a plain, electronic, or certified copy request.

Bring the court, the case number, a date range, and the document type. Fees are posted plainly. An unassisted copy runs $0.50 per page. An assisted or mailed copy is $1.00. An electronic or faxed copy costs $2.50 for the first page plus $1.00 for each later page. A seal or signature adds $2.00. Confirm the copy type and payment method first, since personal checks are not accepted.

A written Georgia Open Records request should go to the court that actually holds the record. It should name the court and the document. Keep the request narrow. Separate a docket sheet from a filed document from a certified copy. The Clarke County court records route explains the fuller file behind the lookup.

The Superior Court page names the Western Judicial Circuit administration route. That route serves the Clarke County criminal docket.

A felony can begin in Magistrate Court. Its trial register and later disposition, though, belong to Superior Court, so the copy request should follow the case there.

Public Access and Sealed Clarke County Criminal Dockets

Georgia access law leans toward openness. Exemptions and court orders still set real limits. Juvenile delinquency and deprivation files are among the most restricted. Juvenile Court handles most of its filings through JCATS, which does not make a case public. A Clarke County Superior or State search may return only a shell entry, a restricted event, or no image at all. That can happen when something is sealed or redacted.

Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 governs Superior and State access. Family-violence material and protected identifiers demand care. Never work around a restriction through another portal. Ask the clerk what order, motion, or legal exception controls the sealed docket entry.

Access rules:

O.C.G.A. §50-18-70 favors public access, subject to statutory exemptions.

O.C.G.A. §50-18-71 governs inspection, copying, and requests. Attorney General guidance describes an initial response within three business days or an explanation and estimate.

Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 makes court records generally public unless law or procedure limits access; Rules 21.1 through 21.6 address restrictions, review, temporary limits, and redaction.

O.C.G.A. §9-11-7.1 and Rule 21.6 support redaction of protected identifiers.

A blank result has several causes. It may mean the wrong court, slow indexing, a restriction, or a portal failure, and it proves neither destruction nor any particular outcome.

Clarke County Criminal Calendar Versus Register

A calendar lists dated settings. The official register, by contrast, records the full chronology of a case. A Clarke State calendar can show an arraignment, status, calendar call, or jury-trial setting with item number, judge, status, offense date, counts, attorneys, and bond. It is still not a certified register.

Record viewUseful forLimit
Calendar PDFFinding a listed date, judge, setting, item, and status.May predate a reset and omits the full history.
Case docket or registerFollowing filed events, motions, orders, dispositions, and settings.Coverage and document images vary by court and provider.
Certified copyObtaining a clerk-certified reproduction for a stated request.Requires the right custodian, type, fee, and access review.

Trust the latest signed order or docket event first. Then confirm with the court, and only then rely on the newest calendar PDF, since an older calendar or payment receipt cannot establish a hearing or disposition.
