Clarke County Court Dates

Clarke County court calendars tell you when and where a case will be heard, so that is the first thing to check once you have a case in view. The clerk of the appropriate court keeps the record, while the calendar lays out each setting by judge and type. A Clarke County court docket search helps you find the case; the calendar then gives the date, time, and place that matter. Start with the notice or citation you received, then match the court, the case number, and the label for the setting. One caution: posted PDFs can lag behind newer docket entries. If they disagree, call the court or clerk and confirm the current date before you appear.

The Clarke County Court Calendar

A court calendar is a public list of planned court events. The docket, or case register, records what happened. A setting entered, continued, disposed, or reset shows up there in the portal. The calendar is different. It gives you a dated list for a court or judge. Use it for a hearing lookup. But remember it is not the case file and not a certified disposition.

Clarke County splits its official routes by court. The State Court index leads to arraignment, civil, criminal, status, calendar-call, and jury PDFs. Superior Court organizes by judge, category, and year. Magistrate, Probate, Juvenile, Athens Municipal, Winterville Municipal, and federal cases run through their own channels. Each has its own court or clerk office. Read the court name on your notice first. An Athens address alone will not tell you which calendar you need.

Access has limits. The Georgia Open Records Act guidance explains access and inspection rules under O.C.G.A. sections 50-18-70 and 50-18-71. Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 sets limits on many Superior Court records. A redacted field or a missing document image may simply reflect an access rule. It is not a failed search. When a date truly matters, the court's custodian has the final word.

Clarke State Court Calendar Index

The official Clarke State Court Calendars index is a set of category links. It is not a party-name search box. Those links open State arraignment, civil, criminal, status, calendar-call, and jury files. The Clerk calendar page adds a flat list of current and term PDFs. A dated link helps only when its court, judge, and event type match the notice you hold.

Clarke County court calendar index for State Court hearing dates

This is a link index to official files, not a live Clarke County case-number search form.

Note: A calendar link is a route to a dated PDF, not proof that the case has no newer docket event.

Find a Clarke County Court Date

Begin with the citation, summons, notice, or docket. The court name and case number matter far more than the word Athens. A date may sit in a State, Superior, Magistrate, Probate, Juvenile, Athens Municipal, Winterville Municipal, or federal route, and every court publishes its information differently.

  1. Read the court name, case number, citation number, or item number on the notice. Keep the date that appears on the paper as the starting point, not as final proof that the event is still set.
  2. Open the matching official online calendar. For State or Superior matters, choose the judge and calendar type, then open the newest PDF whose date covers the expected event.
  3. Search the PDF by its visible case-number pattern or item number. State criminal entries can use the form STYYCR####-JUDGE; Superior and lower-court identifiers can differ.
  4. Use the statewide fallback when the court is State or Superior: Georgia Courts E-Access lists Clarke State and Clarke Superior under PeachCourt. An account is required, and Georgia has no single free statewide docket index. For a federal date, use the Middle District of Georgia route or PACER, with any secondary result treated only as a research lead.
  5. Call when the PDF is absent, old, or unclear. The Clerk of Superior and State Courts is 706-613-3190; State Court is 706-613-3200; Superior Court Administration is 706-613-3161; Athens Municipal is 706-613-3690; Magistrate is 706-613-3310; Probate is 706-613-3320; Juvenile is 706-613-3300.
  6. Use the counter or lobby when an online route fails. The main Clerk counter is Room 450 at 325 East Washington Street, and Magistrate records materials describe public-access terminals in its lobby. Winterville routes citations and calendar questions through City Hall at 125 North Church Street and 706-742-8600. Paper postings are a convenience, not a substitute for confirmation.
  7. Compare the calendar with the docket or status record, then confirm whether the appearance is in person or eligible for a remote option. Keep the official PDF date and URL for reference; a screenshot is not a certified record.

Calendar path: notice or citation to court name and case number, then court index, judge and category, newest calendar PDF, docket or clerk confirmation, and the scheduled appearance.

Four Clarke Superior Calendar Routes

Superior Court calendars are not one shared list. The judge and the event type drive the search. They point you through the Superior Court calendar index and the Clerk's calendar links. That structure explains why a civil file, a criminal trial, a term date, and a jury list can land in different PDF groups.

Judge Stephens posts term, arraignment, status, and trial routes. Judge Lott offers arraignment, status, and trial PDFs. Judge Haggard's routes cover criminal and civil jury calendars plus civil non-jury calendars. Judge Norris carries term and child-support enforcement schedules. In State Court, Judge Auslander and Judge Hope categories hold arraignment, calendar-call, case-status, criminal, civil, and jury materials. Treat the judge's name as a routing key. It is not proof that any listed PDF is the newest setting.

Read a Clarke County Court Setting

A State Court calendar entry packs a lot into a small setting record. The official sample shows a court and judge header. Then come the calendar date and time, item sequence, local case number, caption, and case status. Further fields cover the offense date, count and offense, classification, counsel, bond information, and a production or print reference. You do not need the private party captions to read the field pattern.

DateThe calendar date printed for the event or calendar session.
TimeThe session or docket-call time; do not assume it is an individual start time.
CourtroomRead the notice or get current court confirmation; the sample field inventory does not promise a room field on every PDF.
JudgeThe court and named judge in the header or route, such as a State or Superior calendar category.
Setting typeArraignment, calendar call, case status, criminal trial, civil jury, civil non-jury, term, or jury calendar.
Item and case numberThe sequence and local identifier used to match the notice or docket entry.
Case statusA listing status. An opened or pending value is not a conviction or final result.
Offense, count, and bondState criminal fields may show offense date, count, classification, attorney fields, bondsman, bond amount, and bond date.

Calendar labels describe the planned event. They do not replace the chronological docket, a signed order, or a certified copy. Also note: the year in a case number may match none of the offense date, filing date, or disposition year.

Clarke County Calendar Call and Status

Clarke calendar labels carry distinct working meanings. A calendar call is a scheduling or readiness event, while a status calendar tracks progress. Neither label alone proves that trial occurred or that the case ended.

Arraignment
A formal criminal setting for charge and plea procedure.
Calendar Call
A scheduling event for listed criminal cases and trial readiness.
Case Status
A progress label that is not, by itself, a disposition.
Jury Trial Calendar
A list of matters placed in a jury-trial week or trial list.
Civil Non-Jury Trial
A bench-trial list where the judge hears the evidence.
Term Calendar
A longer-range Superior Court schedule, not a promise that a particular case is set.
Reset or continued
A prior setting moved to a later date; the newest docket entry or court confirmation controls.

Access shapes what you see, too. A public calendar may show a limited case shell or omit document images when Rule 21 or a redaction rule applies. And a payment portal proves only a payment route, not that a full calendar or disposition is online.

Note: A case status label tells how a matter is listed, not whether the court has entered a final result.

Resets, Continuances, and Cancellations

A reset or continuance moves a planned event to a later date. The old PDF can stay online after that change. A case can drop off one calendar without being closed. Clarke County posts no single public reset form or court-coordinator directory. So rely on the relevant court office, the latest docket event, and the newest calendar route.

Weather and emergency orders add another layer. The Clerk's legal notices carry judicial emergency, courthouse-closing, alternative-location, and jury-safety orders. Check the Clerk, ACCGov alerts, and the court before you travel. A June 2026 Judicial Center approval for 120 West Dougherty Street is an active project, not a completed move. Courthouse operations were expected to continue during construction.

When a Clarke County PDF Is Old

Just because a case sits on an old Clarke County PDF list, that proves nothing about closure. The file could predate a reset. Or the case might sit with a different judge or calendar entirely. Some matters simply belong to another court. And a search snippet or a payment receipt never settles what your court date actually is.

Authority order: use a signed court order or latest docket event first, then current coordinator or clerk confirmation, then the latest official calendar PDF. An older calendar, search snippet, or payment portal is last. When the result is unclear, use the Clarke County case search to locate the case record and ask the court whether the date, location, and appearance mode remain current.

Clarke County Civil Calendar Filters

Heading through the public Clarke civil and criminal docket route can land you in an ACCGov Civil Document Center listing. Four optional filters sit at the top. Start Date, End Date, Start Time, and End Time. Used together, they narrow the document list. They can also surface folders or files that may hold posted calendar entries for the Clarke County civil docket.

Remember what these controls actually do. They filter dates and times; they do not search by party name or case number. A blank result may simply mean the window or folder is off. That does not mean no civil hearing exists. Cross-check anything you find against the Superior judge, the calendar label, and the case docket. Then call the Clerk if a hearing date is close or nowhere in sight.

Note: Civil Document Center filters narrow posted files, but they do not replace the case docket or a clerk confirmation.

Clarke Municipal Court Reset Rules

Athens-Clarke Municipal Court handles date changes its own way. The official reset instructions ask for a request at least two business days before court. Email to municipalcourt@accgov.com is preferred. Send your full name, date of birth, mailing address, phone number, and case number if you have one. Health-related requests may require medical documentation. A true emergency can push the new date out 30 to 60 days.

Some pleas and contested motions qualify for WebEx case by case. Under the official WebEx rule, the plea form must reach the court at least 48 hours before the hearing. Bench trials and anything with license-suspension consequences stay in person. One caution: a payment portal is not a complete public case register.

Winterville Court Continuance in Clarke

Winterville Municipal Court runs through the city, not the Athens Municipal reset path. The official Winterville court page directs citation and calendar questions to City Hall at 125 North Church Street, Winterville, Georgia 30683, telephone 706-742-8600. Hours run Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. They close from noon to 1:00 p.m.

A one-time continuance may be granted for good cause. You must call the court before your date. No online continuance form exists. When an appearance is required, the citation goes on the city calendar. Skipping court can bring a bench warrant, a license suspension, or both. Call ahead if you need a change.

After a Missed Clarke County Setting

Missed a Clarke County setting? Act now. Hold on to the notice, the case number, the citation, and any proof that kept you from appearing. Call the court or clerk that owns the matter. Ask whether the case was called, reset, closed, or referred for a failure-to-appear response. And do not assume a missing PDF means the hearing was canceled.

Missed a Clarke County setting? Do not assume the date moved or the case closed; a failure to appear can lead to a bench warrant, arrest, fines, costs, or license suspension, depending on the court and matter.

Call the relevant clerk or court at once, give the case number, and ask what step is required to confirm status or request a new date.

For a criminal matter or possible warrant, seek advice from a licensed attorney before choosing the next step.

Miss a court date in Clarke County? Your next step depends on which court had the case. Athens Municipal and Winterville each reset dates under their own rules. State and Superior Court matters follow the current order on the docket, so confirm any new setting with the coordinator or the Clerk. An old calendar copy is not the safest record of a date. Trust the most recent controlling court information instead.
